Seqrite vs CrowdStrike Falcon — Decision Comparison
This page is written for the person who has to justify the choice to a procurement committee, not for someone collecting feature checkmarks. In real deals the decision almost never turns on feature count. It turns on four things: cost across the whole term, where the data is allowed to live, what the agent costs the endpoint, and who picks up the phone at 2am.
Both products work. The difference is deployment model and cost structure, not better or worse — and the right answer depends on your constraints, not on the vendor.
The four things that actually decide it
| Criterion | Seqrite | CrowdStrike Falcon |
|---|---|---|
| Deployment | Cloud console or on-premise | Primarily a cloud-native platform. If you have an on-prem requirement, get the answer in writing |
| Data residency | On-premise deployment means you decide where data sits | Ask for documentation naming the serving region and the terms for changing it |
| Telemetry retention | 30 days by default, extendable to 365 | Ask how many days the quoted price includes, and the delta to extend |
| Pricing structure | Subscription per endpoint per term, with volume tiers | Module-based — the final number depends on which modules you must enable. Ask for a quote that names every module |
| Automated response | Isolate host, kill process, block IOC | Ask for the list of automated actions included at the licence level quoted |
| Who answers in Thailand | Thai sales and engineering, reached directly | Ask whether the quoted support tier is delivered in Thai, and against which country's business hours |
Price: compare the term, not year one
Both are sold as a per-endpoint subscription over a term. The final numbers rarely differ because of list price — they differ because of five things a single-line quote hides.
- How many modules you actually have to enable to get the capability in your requirement, rather than the capability in the package name
- Days of telemetry retention included, and the delta when your own policy or your auditor asks for longer
- Deployment, policy configuration and SIEM integration, which some vendors price separately from the licence
- What happens when endpoint count grows mid-term — prorated, or charged as a full year
- Year-two and year-three renewal pricing, which is often not year-one pricing
Data residency rules options out before price does
Regulated organisations, and any organisation with an internal policy that data stays in-country, usually settle this before they look at price. Seqrite supports an on-premise console, so you decide where the data sits. For a cloud-only platform, get documentation naming the serving region and the conditions for changing it, and have legal read it before the pricing round rather than after you have picked a winner.
Endpoint overhead: measure it yourself
This matters most if you still run older hardware, or machines on a production line that cannot be rebooted on demand. It is also the point where no vendor's marketing material is worth as much as your own measurement. During the POC, install on the oldest machine still genuinely in service, then measure CPU, memory and boot time against the same machine before install. Do it identically for every vendor you are comparing.
Who picks up the phone
During a real incident the difference you feel most is which time zone answers and in what language. We are a Thai team and we take the call directly. For anyone else, ask plainly whether the quoted support tier is delivered in Thai, against which country's business hours, and how many escalation layers sit between you and the product team.
Questions to put to every vendor in the POC
- Which modules does the quoted price cover, and what has to be bought separately
- How many days of telemetry retention are included, and what does 365 days cost
- In which region is the data stored, and is there an in-country option
- What is the full list of automated actions available at the licence level quoted
- How does it integrate with our existing SIEM — natively or via syslog — and does that cost extra
- When we open a support case, who takes it first, in what language, at what hours
- What are year-two and year-three renewal prices, and will you put them in writing
